Driver Logs Course Mississauga

Properly completed driver log books have always been important to ensure that truck drivers are complying with regulations such as hours of service. Driver logs contain information about driving time as well as a driver’s on and off duty time. With Trukademy’s Driver Logs Course , students will gain all the knowledge they will require for this essential part of the job.

Currently, Canadian regulations states that trucker may driver no more than 13 hours in a single day. This helps to limit driver fatigue and reduces the risk of accidents. Drivers with paper logbooks have traditionally been responsible for keeping track of their hours on their own.

In Canada, the federal government recently announced that by 2020 all commercial bus and truck drivers will be required to install electronic logging devices in their vehicles. (Vehicles that were manufactured before 2000 will be exempt.) Vehicles that are doing cross-border runs into the United States are already required to have these.

While new electronic logging devices (ELDs) will make it easier for trucker to keep track of their hours, it will be more essential than ever that they are familiar with hours of service regulations. The ultimate goal of requiring ELDs is to make roads safer but it has benefits for truckers as well. They will ensure truckers get their proper breaks without feeling pressured by employers to work more hours than they should.
