CVOR Training Course in Mississauga & Brampton!

CVOR stands for Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration, and if you wish to drive a commercial truck for a living in Ontario, you will be required to have a valid CVOR certificate. At Trukademy, we offer an extensive CVOR training course in order to prepare you for your CVOR test.
Who is required to get a CVOR certificate?
If you are a commercial operator driving any of the following types of vehicles, you will need a CVOR certificate:
- A commercial truck with a gross weight of more than 4500 kg.
- A bus that seats 10 or more passengers.
- Tow trucks (regardless of weight).
Who is exempt from requiring a CVOR certificate?
- Buses or trucks that have plates from another Canadian province or territory.
- Trucks that are being leased for less than 30 days in order to move personal items.
- Buses that are being leased for less than 30 days in order to transport passengers who are not paying a fare.
- Emergency response vehicles.
- Vehicles with dealer plates or in-transit permits.
- Motor homes
- Most pick-up trucks.
The CVOR system is responsible for monitoring safety as it relates to:
- Operating a commercial vehicle
- Hours of service
- Daily vehicle inspections
- Load securement
When you register for a CVOR training course through Trukademy, you be presented with all the knowledge and training required to obtain your CVOR certificate.
In the Hours of Service category, you will receive training concerning daily limits, driving-cycle limits, log books, electronic recording devices and more.
In the segment on daily vehicle inspections, you’ll learn the elements of a schedule 1 inspection, how to properly fill out inspection reports, how to identify problems with your commercial vehicle, and reporting methods.
When we cover load securement, you will learn the proper inspection criteria, requirements for securement devices, load limits, packing considerations and special commodity securement.
