The Importance of Collision Review

Jerit Justin • January 22, 2021

Although commercial truck drivers are extremely well trained and considered to be some of the safest drivers on the road, the unfortunate fact is, that accidents sometimes do happen. And when they do, you’ll want to know how to conduct a proper collision review. This will help to protect both you and your employer in the event of a collision.

Trukademy’s Collision Review Course will give you the skills and knowledge base you need to conduct and thorough and accurate collision review in the event that you are ever in an accident.

What happens when you are involved in an accident with your commercial vehicle?

If you are ever involved in an accident with your truck, the first thing you will want to do is ensure that everyone is alright and contact the appropriate emergency services to provide help. Once the authorities have arrived and everyone is safe, you will want to check on your cargo to see if anything has been damaged. This is especially true if you are carrying anything that may be hazardous to the environment. Using flares or cones around your vehicle will help to prevent additional accidents from happening until any debris can be cleared up and you can move your vehicle.

After the accident is over, you will need to work closely with your employer (if you are not self-employed) and the insurance company. Conducting a proper collision review will help you in this. At Trukademy, we will teach you what information you will need to record and how to record it so that you are protected.
