Why Take CVOR Training

For individuals wishing to start a career in the trucking industry in Canada, the Ministry of Transport requires that the take CVOR (commercial vehicle operator) training in order to gain the following skills:

  • Learning the safe operation of a commercial vehicle.
  • Understanding hours of operation and service.
  • Proper log books procedures.
  • How to conduct regular daily vehicle inspections and submit reports.

Getting the proper CVOR training by a Ministry approved trucking school is required before you can obtain your CVOR Certificate which is essential if you wish to drive any of the following vehicles in your career:

  • A commercial truck that weighs more than 4500kg.
  • Busses that seat 10 passengers or more.
  • Tow trucks.
