If you are looking to start an exciting career in the trucking industry, your first step should be to enroll in the Trukademy’s MELT program. MELT stands for Mandatory Entry Level Training, and it is a program that is required by the provincial government in order to obtain your commercial trucking license.

If you are looking to obtain your class A (tractor trailer) licence in Ontario, you must complete at least 103.5 hours of classroom training and in-vehicle training.

During the MELT program, trainees receive 36.5 hours of classroom time, 17 hours training in the yard, 32 hours on-road as well as 18 hours off-road and behind the wheel.
